I've come to the realization that I LOVE teaching. Who would have thought? Growing up, I always thought teaching of any kind would be my last choice of career, but boy, I thought teaching an intro to modern calligraphy workshop was such a treat! I had a wonderful time and I was so proud of all of the talented students. It was so fun to encourage others to cultivate new skills and to learn how to create something beautiful with their very own hands and style. We all had such a lovely time together learning, chatting, creating, eating, and mingling. I loved putting the personalized kits together with some handmade touches and some of my favorite tools. I'm looking forward to teaching another workshop soon! You can stay tuned for upcoming workshops by following Studio von Berg on Instagram and by subscribing to the newsletter! All of the talented people involved with this evening are listed below.
Inspiration comes in many ways and is such an integral part of being an artist. It’s a total requisite. To me, inspiration is stimulating and encouraging and supportive. It is not comparison or copying. For me to stay true to self and business I like to gather my attention on what truly inspires the voice of my work.
This Inspiration series is a place for me to gather and show what inspires me. Enjoy.
I love music and I consider it a high source of inspiration. It also helps me power through mundane tasks (bonus!) I made a playlist on Spotify that I've pretty much had on repeat every day. You can find the Studio von Berg Inspiration | 1 playlist here. Happy listening.

I was so happy to be asked to make this poster for the Young Women in a local church congregation. These young women have such incredible values and the words in this theme are beautiful and inspiring.
I wanted the poster to be easy to read with an emphasis on the values. At the bottom, I added an emblem with details significant to the Young Women's program. The bee represents the beehive, which is a symbol for harmony, cooperation, and work. The rose stands as a symbol of love, faith, and purity. The laurel leaves included in the floral illustration signify honor and accomplishment.
I find it so encouraging and hopeful there are girls who choose to live by these values. If you'd like to learn more about this program, you can click here.
As there are girls who participate in this program around the globe, I've made this poster available as a free printable. To download this printable, click here.
